…be attentive to what is arising within you, and place that above everything else… What is happening in your inner most self is worthy of your entire love; somehow you must find a way to work at it.
—Rainer Maria Rilke (from the cover of an IOP handout on PTSD)

•Mindfulness and Self-Compassion change the physical structure and chemistry of the brain. Now there is scientific proof.

- Buddha’s Brain: The Practical Neuroscience of Happiness, Love, and Wisdom by Richard Mendius and Rick Hanson

Bless you.

I will be anxious to discover which of these books are helpful to you. I’ve been reading, “Why Isn’t My Brain Working?” by Datis Kharrazian. He references both negative and positive brain plasticity. I am amazed at how adaptable the brain is!

I’ve been working on mindfulness and other skills that go along with it for awhile now with DBT. It’s extremely hard, but I’m hopeful that it’ll get easier with time. I, too, am interested in which books you find helpful.

Yes, it’s HARD work, but SO awesome that you’re practicing. I’m starting with “Seeking Safety” to work through with my therapist. Loads of great stuff.

I’ll have to look into that

Hey! I’m working on making coloring pages. Would you be willing to test them out for me?
Nov 09, 2016 @ 10:30:24
I can’t color anymore. Lithium has given me hand tremors. I can’t stay in the lines and then I get really upset. But, I would love to look at them!
Nov 13, 2016 @ 03:48:19
Well, that totally sucks. I’ll have to think of a page where tremors make art. Let me ponder that.

Now, that would be phenomenal! I’m more then willing to be your guinea pig!
