Night of Stars

SupportI just got home from saying good-bye to my mom.  She died earlier tonight after falling and hitting her head.

It happens— just like that—sometimes.

And now the world is strange and quiet.  So many plans to make, so many people to touch.   But in the center is this night of stars.  And Mom rising toward them.

I made a similar comment at my mother’s passing. Maybe our mothers fly together, out there.

I have been acutely aware of that — that it can happen, just like that. Here, then gone. What a journey (anything I say sounds trite) it has been for me since my Betty-Mom died 3 yrs ago — no surprise, she was 87, but I had no idea I would feel my solar plexus ripped out of me, nor for so long. It is different for everyone. Holding you in the light, except when you want the dark…. LindaNoel

You were blessed to have had her for as long as you did. I took comfort in that thought when I lost my Mom and Dad. I hope you find that thought which will bring you some peace, as well. Love.

Yes, Therese, I do. And that the end was fast with little pain or fear. It had been a hard year for Mom, and we were all afraid of a long, slow slide that so many elderly folk suffer through to the end. I’m so thankful she didn’t have to do that.
