It always comes back round to this:
Is it worth it?
And even that thought is a lie.
But, is it?
When the reset is so grim
Where nothing helps
And nothing works.
Even knowing it won’t last
That the locks will open
And air will move.
Is it?
When the return to this point
is inevitable.

Not having any soothing or uplifting words for you this morning, I shifted my gaze outside where it’s overcast, blustery and cold. And then I saw the messenger! Three squirrels in chase, leaping through the trees, round and round and up and down. Little daredevils, charging forth in a fighting spirit, finding balance after giant leaps to tender branches, latching on and swaying in the wind… Latch on and sway, Sandy. Find your balance, then move forth and proceed.

“They” say the big lie of depression is the perception on the part of the sufferer that nothing ever changes or will change. I, too, ask myself if that’s really a lie. No answers, but a hug.
