To say I’m in a mixed state would be like saying my cats enjoy the occasional nap.
It is deep and wide and full of gnashing teeth.
What I’m grateful for today is that this Christmas stuff is over.
And for Stephen Fry.

Bipolar=Double Nutty…
Sylvia was 70 before she first experienced mental illness. Following a series of deaths of a number people very close to her, she became severely depressed. After being diagnosed with bipolar disorder – in her own words, “I’m not sure what it means. I think it means I’m double nutty!”

I love that. How do you know Sylvia?

Sylvia appeared on a documentary about patients in the the world’s oldest psychiatric institution, South London and Maudsley (SLaM), where, in recovery her self, she now volunteers once a week on the wards.

Maybe it’s just the state I’m in, but the synopses of the shows seemed really bleak. Sylvia’s story was the only uplifting one. Yikes.

I’m so glad. I love sharing Stephen. He inspires me with his very real struggle with bipolar disorder. And his wit. And his intelligence. And his moral compass.

Stephen is a beacon like no other.
