The Most Astounding Fact

handmade greeting card, collage art

Up all night with a cold.  Not suffering.  Hot tomato soup and warm blanket.  Cruising the internet with Kleenex close at hand.  I run across this bit of awe posted on David Kanigan’s blog.

Astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson answers the question, “What is the most astounding fact you can share with us about the Universe?”  A three-minute prayer.

This was beautiful, Sandy. I felt very alone this morning… this video helped me remember that I am not. Thank you, my dear friend.

At a funeral of one of my beloved relatives Robin, one of their relatives (different side of their family) made the remark to the effect that Satan did this to Robin (cancer) and then something to the effect that we should/are on god’s side, fighting this Evil. I did an irretrievable whole-body double-take, astounded that he would believe/live in such a divided world. I think that is when it hit home to me that I had recovered from Christianity that had torn me from my innate oneness with the universe that I had known KNOWN as a child growing up in the country (fields, dirt, creeks, stars, clouds, wind, weeds, ants, etc.). My joy to rediscover and live again in my being a Child of the Universe, No Less (and no greater) than the Trees and the Stars lifts me onward in my Life, despite any and all inner and outer sorrow. Thank you so much for posting this video. I love Neil deGrasse, too.
