Much Madness is Divinest Sense

ο ο ο

Much Madness is divinest Sense—

To a discerning Eye—

Much Sense—the starkest Madness—

‘Tis the Majority

In this, as All, prevail—

Assent—and you are sane—

Demur—you’re straightway dangerous—

And handled with a Chain—

—Emily Dickinson

I like Emily Dickinson. I fell in love with her back when I had to write a paper on her, and her life story.I need to go back and refresh myself by reading her work. Thanks for reminding me!

So much of life makes me think of the fable of The Emperor’s New Clothes. Sanity is in the eye of the beholder, eh? Thanks for the lovely poem and artwork.
