Three lovely bloggers have passed on to me the honor of The Versatile Blogger Award.

  1. It’s Just One Aspect
  2. Seasons Change, and Change…
  3. Lara On the Weigh Down

I’m humbled and honored by their sweet regard, but I’m going to be a bloggy party-pooper and not pass it on.  The rules of acceptance are to:

  1. Post a picture of the award.  This I can do easily.  See?
  2. Thank the award giver.  Also, easy peasy.
  3. Share 7 random facts about yourself.  Here’s where it starts to get tricky.  My life is an open book on this blog, so I couldn’t think of one random fact, let alone seven, that I haven’t already babbled about here.  I tried.  Really.
  4. Nominate 15 other bloggers for this award and tell them so.  This is the big road block.  It may not be politically correct to say this, but I don’t read that many blogs.  I tend to go for the sites that inspire me and give me some meat to chew on all day long.  So, my nominations for awards like this one tend to be the same handful of people, like the ones I nominated for the Candle Lighters’ Award a few weeks ago.

These awards are fun and help create a blogging community that I find an amazing gift.  They also introduce us to other sites that can be just the one we’ve been looking for.  And, in the world of the amateur writer, regard from one’s peers is a huge boost.  So, I feel a little hinky stopping the buck here.  The Good Girl not being Good.  Ah, there are gifts and there are Gifts!

Believe me. I understand. Thanks for not passing either to me!

Congrats! I admit to doing the same thing. It’s nice to be recognized, but WAY too much work to follow the rules.

So very eloquently said… I mean that! I have been nominated for the Versatile Blogger and the Candlelighter Awards too. You said so nicely here, what I could not find the words for. While I appreciate the nomination, and I’ve thanked the senders, I’ve decided not to pass it on nor comply with the rules. I simply enjoy writing, and maybe I’m too busy chasing deer, squirrels and birds… but having to comply with more rules is simply adding to the chaos and noise in my life! Nice post.
