Today I made my third weight-loss goal. Another 13 pounds gone for a grand total of 44 so far. Sweeeeet! I think I’m getting the hang of this. The winning credo seems to be Do Whatever it Takes, which fits right in with my Bad-Ass Training. Even with my recent rapid cycling and mixed state episodes, I’m finding it easier to keep the TV off and go for the burn instead of the brownie.
This past weekend I went to a wedding reception where most of the folks I knew hadn’t seen me in 44 pounds. I borrowed a dress, put on make-up, even bought panty hose. The comments, compliments and shocked faces were very gratifying.
On to the next 13 pound goal!

Awesome!! Isn’t it wonderful when people notice change in us and are elated, happy for us, and encouraging? It sounds like the reception was a big boost to the bad ass training! You’ll be going gangbusters now!! I’m really proud of you… great job!

Thanks, thanks and thanks! Sometimes we don’t let ourselves hear all the wonderful things people say to us. I tried really hard to believe all those nice word and soak them in.

Thanks, Rachel. It’s taken me a long time to work up to the changes I have to make. They are big and scary, and I’ve been dancing with them for years. It think it’s like building muscle–little increments, vacillating back and forth, inching toward change. It’s huge and scary, but I know it’s time.
